Being in a Title I school, many of my students experience new things when they come to school. They love to grow and learn throughout the day and school year. My job is to help instill that love of learning and keeping them engaged and excited to learn. My students are most engaged and focused when they are given the opportunity to move!
My students are first graders who are excited to explore their world around them.
They are eager learners, and love being able to have a place that feels warm and welcoming, as well as engaging and exciting!
My Project
In our school we do not have a reading curriculum provided. So, as a teacher I must go out and find resources to help cover all of the first grade reading and language standards.
These books will help aid in my teaching of the rigorous standards, while keeping the subjects relevant, engaging and fun!
These books will aid in my teaching for August-February! They will be used throughout the year and loved immensely by both myself and my kids! Through my reading aloud my students are able to not only develop the love of reading, but also learn multiple strategies.
