My students need equipment to play badminton, tennis, and pickle ball safely and successfully.
This project expired on July 7, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students at Honey are athletically talented, eager to learn new things, and always asking questions. Our school has a special education program which services kids at every grade level.
We also have an ELL other than Spanish program where we have seen PreK-5th grade children coming from China, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Russia, and many other countries.
We are a close knit school and have had success in integrating all these different types of learners into general education classrooms, library, art, music, and PE (That's me!!!)
I give our students 10-15 minutes of free choice every Friday. What I have found is that the older kids really like are striking sports like tennis and badminton. While I do have tennis rackets, they aren't safe in a small playing space because the kids can accidentally hit each other.
Foam lollipop paddles are a great alternative to rackets in limited space and would allow kids to play sports such as tennis, badminton, pickleball and ping pong without the fear of hurting someone with a hard racket.
Fingerlight balls have the perfect amount of bounce and slow, float like movement to help PreK/kinder children and special needs students be successful and gain confidence in racket sports.
