Help me give my students the ability to learn and play one of the newest and most popular paddle sports around. The slower pace of the game will make playing less challenging for my students.
I am fortunate to work in a school that specializes in students with severe disabilities. Our students are in a public school setting which is able to cater to their individual needs and wants. Every student is different and special in their own unique way!
My students range in all different DISABILITIES, but their ABILITIES are endless.
We are a school with the most amazing and talented students ever. The classifications you can find in our school range from Autism, to Cerebral Palsy, to Down Syndrome, to Learning Disabilities and so on.
My students love to be a part of a group. We have several clubs within our school. They participate in an all inclusive Dance & Music Club, separate Boys & Girls Clubs, and a Sports Club. I would love to add a Pickleball Club to our repertoire.
My Project
Your donations will purchase several beginner Pickleball sets to be used in our brand new school pickleball team. The sets are easy to set up and pack away, which will make playing during the school day a bit easier.
My students will learn the enjoyment of the game by playing matches against their peers in a competitive team format.
Our students will match up to play against peers from within our school and other sites as well. They will learn skills like good sportsmanship and leadership; as well as strengthening their communication skills by cheering on their peers.
Our teachers and staff members will even benefit from our new Pickleball team. Many of our staff members have yet to hear about this popular sport. It will be great to see the staff and students playing together!
