This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students at my school are fun, loving, and creative. These are students who are excited to learn but because they live in a poverty stricken area they have limited to no resources at home. These students attend a recently named Title One school that doesn’t have the same “cool things” that schools on the other side of the city have. In a world where technology is the “water of life”, my students live in a desert. Please help my students to grow and thrive.
My Project
The students at my school come from homes that don’t have many luxuries and they have no control over that. Help my students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. I also believe that having these types of seats will push students to work harder. It will teach them responsibility when they know that they must take care of these nice things in order to keep nice things. Some students move and fidget to keep calm and stay focused. With these types flexible seating available, these students can do so without distracting and disrupting others.
