Piano Prodigies Need Pianos!

My Students

Because we are a school of choice, my students come from all over our area and represent a variety of cultures and socio-economic groups. Parent participation is required and it shows in our kids. They come to school ready to learn and strive to meet the expectations set by their teachers.

Our school promotes a culture of excellence and the arts and technology are an integral part.

My students love their elective classes and our teachers work hard to provide meaningful and engaging lessons. In my class, students love to sing, dance and play instruments. Watching their joy when making music is priceless for me and I want to foster this as much as I can!

My Project

I am continually searching for lessons that are fun and engaging for all of my students, and at the same time, are beneficial to their development.

Studying piano has been shown to improve memory, refine hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, and build good habits like focus, perseverance, diligence and creativity.

It has also been shown to increase spatial-temporal ability, which figures heavily in math, science and engineering.

It is most effective to introduce a child to piano early on when their brains are the most open to new experiences and to absorbing new information. Elementary grades are ideal for learning piano, AND its super fun for kids to learn songs that they can share with family and friends!!
