My Students

Hello! Welcome to my page and thanks for stopping by! As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with many day-to-day challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am always looking for new ways to keep my students focused and excited about learning. This will be my fifth year teaching (first in 5th grade!) and I couldn't be more excited about this new adventure!

Fifth graders ROCK!

They are independent thinkers, full of energy, great leaders, compassionate and thoughtful towards others, optimistic, problem solvers and dreamers. Fifth graders makes me laugh with their great sense of humor and together we get excited about new ideas.

Despite many of the challenges my students face outside of school, they come to school ready to learn, eager to please and desperate for information about the world that awaits them. Everyday is an adventure that we choose to take together!

My Project

For months we have been studying the Solar System. Studying the solar system is a brilliant way to fuel curiosity and encourage an interest in science and exploration.

"Pi In The Sky" is an inventive novel that appeals to kids with all kinds of taste in literature: chocked full of science and ideas, it is also a fun fantasy and a compelling story about family, friendship and believing in oneself and the possibilities that exist in the universe.

My students LOVE to be read to and with a class set of the books, students could follow along with me and enjoy this novel even more!
