Hello! I teach 11th and 12th grade students physics in a rural, high-need, Washington community.

It has been over 20 years since a physics class has been taught at my school. When polled, students expressed an interest in taking physics. Because of the time without this class in our school, we are short on supplies!

While we have made some strides in obtaining materials specific to physics class, 4 sets of Vernier photogates with the picket fence to use with each would expand the level of experimentation my students can achieve for themselves.

My high school typically has maybe 10% of the graduating class attend a university, and of those students, only 5-7% actually receive a 4-year degree. When I have incredibly bright, interested, and motivated students wanting to learn a new subject, I would like to give them every opportunity possible to not only take a college prep course, but have the materials that they need to master the material to prepare them for college. I think this donation will not only empower my students to feel confident enough to apply to a university, but to have the knowledge and confidence to stay in college and succeed!
