My Students

Being in a low income and high poverty school district exposes students to challenges in and outside of the classroom. School should be a fun, exciting, and safe place to learn. Students should come into the classroom and be excited to learn and have access to appropriate materials that they will see outside of school. The technology used in science labs help expose students to data collecting technology; that many colleges, jobs, and homes use in order to better understand their world and what is going on around them.

My Project

In my classroom I'm trying to build up the lab resources in order to do more hands-on activities with the students. The obscertainer will be used to help students have a hands on activity in order to learn about the making observations, guessing the path inside, and checking to see how they did.

The more hands on activities and labs the higher the class engagement.

In a science class hands on is needed to help students gain a deeper understanding of the topics. Kinematics, gravity, and forces are used in order to make bridges the KNEX bridge set will be used to show theses topics.
