Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are young and energetic athletes and scholars. They love playing on our school basketball, softball, volleyball, and track teams. These teams help build school spirit, community, and sportsmanship. Regular physical activity promotes health and wellness and helps my students to focus on academics during the school day.
My Project
Regular physical activity helps our young teenagers to be healthy and fit. After months of being sedentary while quarantining in isolation, my students need to exercise their bodies and develop strength and stamina again.
While contact team sports may not be allowed yet due to the pandemic, these resistance bands and abdominal training mats will allow my students to build up their muscles while maintaining a safe social distance from their peers.
Due to the pandemic, it is more important than ever to support and promote opportunities for physical activity and safe health and wellness activities during and after the school day.
