This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My first graders are progressing well academically but sometimes I need a way to have more physical movement to keep their growing enthusiasm for learning. Recess is a big part of our day. I have chosen playground equipment and other indoor activities such as jump ropes, balls, jacks, hopscotch frames to name a few to use to teach math by using hands-on equipment.

Using playground equipment and other games will also help me to enhance counting skills as well as teaching them to work together.

Exercise is very important to their overall physical and mental health.
