This year, I have 24f second graders who are eager to learn and help each other. We live by our school motto of Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. The students take this to heart in the classroom, on the playground, and are learning to transfer this code of conduct at home as well.
My students and I are building a sense of community within the classroom, realizing that it is more about WE than ME.
We work on collaborative projects and they learn to depend on each other to achieve a successful end product.
The materials and supplies I am requesting will help enhance my teaching of PE to my students. I teach PE to my second graders 4 days a week for roughly 30 minutes each day. I work on gross motor skills like dribbling, kicking, throwing and catching. The scoop ball sets will be used to practice throwing, catching, and hand-eye coordination skills. The agility ladders will be used to increase cardio aspects of my PE lessons.
I work with my students on team-building skills, as well as improving individual strength and coordination.
With these supplies, I hope the students will have fun learning the skills without even realizing it.
