it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello my name is Joseph Recine and I am a Physical Education Teacher at Public School 280 in New York City. I am asking for a donation of physical education/recess equipment for our students to be able to use and enjoy. The funding that schools receive each year by their individual states (in my case New York) is directly used for books. I am a true believer that academics come first, but since I teach physical education to 460 students a week I am unable to give them a complete physical education experience with the supplies I have. I teach grades K-4 and I don't have enough supplies that are not broken to give each student a good gym experience.
Many people don't realize how important physical education is. Children need their gym time to let out their physical ability and to get their exercise in on a daily basis. In order to give them a fair chance at physical fitness I am asking for some assistance in helping me to supply them with equipment that is not broken or missing parts.
When I think back to my elementary school years I remember gym to be an overall great experience, my gym teachers had good working equipment that gave me the availability to express my physical fitness.
This is what I want to offer to my students, so anything that you can donate would be greatly appreciated by me and all the young students at public school 280.
