This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach and coach in a Title I district. The majority of our students come from single parent, low-income households. I grew up in this great community and chose to return to give back to the community that helped shaped the person that I am. We have incredible student-athletes that walk the halls at Pecos High School. As a teacher and coach and PHS I would like to be able to provide our student-athletes with the equipment necessary to be successful.

My Project

The Pecos High School Girl's Athletic Program is dire need of new equipment. While the supplies listed in this project are expensive, it is just a start to replace equipment that is broken and beyond repair. The equipment I have selected is extremely important. Currently, we have 4 15 lb Kettle Bells and 3 medicine balls that leak sand. Our high school athletic programs have over 100 students-athletes involved. Our girls athletic programs are extremely competitive and provide our student-athletes with not only an opportunity to participate in sports that they love, but give us an opportunity to equip our kids with a means to succeed upon graduation.
