My students need access to a camera so we can capture our learning and successes and the joy on our faces when we get our ribbons at the Special Olympics.

Hooray! This project is fully funded
Imagine not being able to communicate with your family all the fun things you are doing at school. Pictures are a way to help my nonverbal students tell a story.
My students are a wonderfully diverse group with special needs ranging from profound to mild in a self-contained middle school classroom.
Even though we attend a typical middle school and are the only class like us there we want to be just like everybody else. We are trying to learn our basic skills like colors and numbers, life skills like laundry and cooking, all while keeping up with the state standards.
With a classroom camera we will be able to capture memories we make everyday and share them with family and friends. The camera we are requesting will allow us to take high quality pictures, learn how to use a beginners SLR camera, and gain even more life skills.
My goal as a teacher for this population of students is have them be as independent as they can be and as many opportunities as possible.
Help me give these students the best school experience imaginable.
