Phonics Skills in Play, Children Learn to Read and Say

My Students

I have an exceptional class with varying personalities. My students like to be busy and learn best with hands-on, interactive educational activities. I have learned from my students this year that they need more interactive, peer driven and entertaining lessons that offer opportunities to learn from one another through using manipulatives, playing educational games, or simply having discussions about topics and skills being learned.

Phonics learning has been a challenge this year and I have seen progress made when students with phonetic challenges have played a phonics game or had a skill explained by a peer.COVID-19 has left an impact on all students and it definitely shows in the phonetic challenges that I'm seeing on a daily basis.

My students are eager to learn and genuinely flourish when interacting with their peers while learning. I teach small flex groups daily and would benefit greatly from phonics games that offer hands-on, peer driven activities to better reach their educational needs.

My Project

With the items requested, I am able to deliver impactful phonics lessons which offer interactive, hands-on, peer driven, fun experiences that will lead to long term knowledge and life long skills. My goal is to give the students positive learning experiences that will influence them enough to retain the knowledge being taught to them.

Due to COVID-19 students lost out on in-person learning which involves so much when it comes to phonetic learning.

Students learn a great deal through discussion, collaboration, and simply playing with and listening to peers. The games that I am requesting offer an explicit lesson that directly correlates with each student's individual need while delivering an opportunity to learn with peers on the same phonics skill.
