My Project

Creating little readers is something that I am passionate about, and these hands-on supplies will help me create phonics-based activities that can be used for many years to come.

Students need explicit instruction in phonological awareness, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and phonics.

Each of these plays a key part in teaching a young child to read. I want to create excitement in my kindergarteners and give them a firm foundation to become a life long reader.

The materials that I need will be used in small group instruction to teach basic skills such a rhyming, blending and segmenting words. If I can give my kiddos the basics they need in kindergarten, there is no limit to how far they can go!
