Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students typically have low reading abilities and need intensive small group intervention. They love games in English and Spanish that will help improve their reading abilities. Most of my students don’t have books or basic supplies. Many live in a multiple family household and due to COVID have lost a parent which limits the amount spent on basic supplies.
My Project
These phonics games are fun and engaging they can use in class and at home with parents. This would improve their reading skills while having fun! Please help me make learning fun for them with some fun eye catching activities and games. My 36 kids come to me already feeling defeated because they can’t read. If I can provide fun learning games and close the gaps in their learning, we can create future leaders for our community. The ultimate goal is for them to grow as readers and exit my program with in three months.
