Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, love, excitement, and are always eager to find out what we are learning for the day. I get them to understand that I believe in them and know that they can do anything they set their hearts and minds to! I care about their safety and well being, and I enjoy getting to know them personally!
I teach at a Title I school in Dallas where most of our students receive free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch.
Despite some of their hardships, my students are eager to do their very best. They are growing and learning together, and seeing them accomplish so many goals is a huge reward for me! These kindergartners are our future scientists, engineers, teachers, lawyers, world travelers, entrepreneurs, and police officers, to name a few. I want to give them a world full of knowledge so that they will be successful in all their future endeavors!
My Project
The Busy Bees Hands-On Subtraction Center and other programs will help me plan activities to ensure all of my students get quality phonics instruction. Students will be able to use the read and infer worksheets in reading centers to build their inferencing skills. They will also become fluent phonics learners by practicing vowel pair words, diphthongs, and sight word activities.
I have also included materials that will help me as a teacher keep my class on track and make sure that each subject is receiving the correct teaching and activity time.
These materials will greatly benefit my students, and it will help them become lifelong learners.
