My second graders are capable of ANYTHING, but with your help we can do even more. Unfortunately, I am a first year, second grade teacher in a Title 1 school and I am low on the appropriate resources to help my kiddos reach their maximum potential. Please help us with the supplies necessary to help students at all levels reach their reading/writing/language arts goals. Anything and everything you can help with is appreciated! We will use these for solo and group projects that help us become stronger readers, writers, speakers and listeners. Thank you in advance for your help!
My Project
My students need a Supplemental Phonics materials to help fill in gaps for early literacy. Students need daily repetition and practice building skills to prepare them for reading success. These supplies will provide students with the opportunity to work on phonics skills.
Although my students are in 2nd grade, many are reading at a kindergarten or first grade level.
Just imagine how hard it is for them when they open a book at their grade level and find that they are unable to understand or read the information? For this reason, many of my students must start off with learning phonics and sight words. To encourage my students to become better readers, fun activities must be incorporated into their learning. My students are at a crucial age where they need to be able to grasp phonic skills to become better readers. This project will allow my students those resources to be able to do so independently and collaboratively.
