Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is made up of a diverse community. Students here come from many different places from within and out of the United States. They all have had unique life experiences. For many of my students this is their first school experience. Kindergarten students are awesome and active learners. They are so eager to learn new things and experience new lessons.
The excitement my students bring into the classroom daily is evident as well as their love for learning.
Because of their enthusiasm, I try to provide as many memorable learning experiences as I can. I have found with my young learners that more learning takes place when they are excited and engaged in the lessons. I want to foster a love of learning in my class by providing materials that engage their minds.
My Project
This activity program will enable my students to follow step-by-step lessons to build phonemic awareness in an engaging and interactive way. There is enough materials for 8 students to use at same time during independent work time. During this time I am working with small groups and this will be fun and educational for my students to use while working on their own.
By donating to our class project, you will be helping to improve my students phonemic awareness which is a key to reading success.
My goal is to have each of my students reading when they leave kindergarten and these materials will provide engaging lessons to get them started on the road to reading.
