Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the privilege of teaching 3rd graders in the great city of Philadelphia. My school is located in the heart of Kensington and could use your support for school supplies and books. We all know back to school supplies can be expensive and we want our students set up for success this year!
My 3rd grade class is going to focus its attention on the Love of Literacy this year.
By providing these students with a fully stocked library of books and a supply room filled with the right materials we will be ready to take on the challenge of getting every student to read on grade level.
My Project
Learning to read by the 3rd grade in pivotal in setting up our students to succeed in future grades and in life. To help my students on this path a leveled library would help students grow their reading levels with books that meet their needs on every level.
A library full of books will be the perfect opportunity to engage my class and get them on the path to becoming life long lovers of reading!
Students need to be exposed to all different types of reading materials. We never know what book is going to catch the attention of a student. The more choices they have the more likely the student will find the book they fall in love with.
