Personalizing Our Portfolios! Families Can 'See'Saw Our Learning!
My students need iPads to fully utilize our online portfolios that are shared with teachers and families. With the use of iPads, children can update their portfolios with completed work and videos.
My students strive to be lifelong learners that think locally and globally! We are an International Baccalaureate Primary Year Programme School. I teach third graders in a self-contained classroom. 8-9 year olds make the perfect transition to independent thinkers and learners!
Third graders learn best while being engaged, using their hands, and incorporating their own life experiences.
With the use of iPads, my students can document and share their learning through our electronic portfolios! This is another step toward independent learning!
My Project
With the use of iPads, my students use the online portfolio tool called Seesaw. This is an interactive and engaging way for students to share learning and accomplishments with families. It is also used as a teaching tool. I can provide opportunities for pre- and formative assessments to guide my lessons, all the while families can see the progression of learning.
iPads are the most successful tool for children to use independently with Seesaw.
Children use Seesaw throughout each week to upload work and videos of learning. Families have an instant snapshot of our daily life at school! This is a perfect connection between home and school life!
