Personalizing Instruction to Monitor Progress for Special Needs Students
Help me give my students more detailed feedback during Distance Teaching/Learning with a ViewSonic VX2776-smhd 27" LED Monitor, Black/Silver external monitor. This will allow me to view my students' activity and monitor their progress more accurately and clearly.
"Sometimes real superheroes live in the hearts of small children fighting big battles". ~ Anonymous. Battles have never become more difficult to fight for my students with special needs than it does now amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. My students now have the equipment they need to practice their gross motor skills at home, however, the technical needs from my home office in order to effectively monitor my students' progress on their IEP goals is suffering.
My students are unique, special, funny, happy, challenged, challenging, and heroic, but they are NEVER LESS THAN.
My students range in age from 3 years to 10 years old and have a variety of special needs. COVID-19 has made teaching a challenge for me working through Distance Learning without the technology at home to support opportunities for fully monitoring my students' progress, especially for students in Special Education.
My students participate in Adapted Physical Education which typically require physical assistance and ongoing assessment through observation. Distance Learning does not allow for physical assistance and virtual learning is not optimal for observing skill performance without enhanced equipment to observe. My students deserve feedback that is accurate based on accurate observations via enhanced technology and equipment.
My Project
My project is designed to allow me to observe my students in a larger video format through virtual teaching with the use of a second larger monitor connected to my small screen laptop. I will be able to share my laptop screen for my lessons and observe my students' participation on the larger external video screen.
By being able to see my students more clearly and observe their gross motor skill movements in more detail, I will be able to evaluate their gross motor skills and progress towards their Annual IEP goals through more accurate data collection.
