Help me give my students these active learning tables. This will make it easy for students to transition into more collaborative working spaces. It will also allow our small room to have greater space to move and work.
I love how hard my students are willing to work to succeed. However, they like to learn in a different manner than a traditional classroom. They like to learn history at their own pace and in their own space.
One challenge we face is finding the best space to do our work.
Some of my students enjoy working in collaborative groups. Others enjoy working independently in quiet spaces. But our traditional classroom and furniture make it difficult to meet their needs. They want to learn in a place where they can easily transition between collaboration, independent work and one on one or small group instruction.
These materials will help transition my room into a more active learning center. It will allow students to move into collaborative groups or transition into independent quiet working areas.
Students like the choice to work in spaces they feel comfortable.
These tables will provide the necessary steps to give some students the freedom to move into work spaces outside of our classroom and into freer and more comfortable work areas.
The tables are also functional to move into storage and will open up areas for simulations and discussions as a whole group. They will also create areas for small work groups as well as independent work stations.
