This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are all different and unique in their own way. Some show leadership skills, some are artistic, and some are very athletic. These students grow up in neighborhoods that are considered low income. They see negativity on a regular basis including violence outside and inside their home environment.
When students have what they need to succeed in school, they are happier, more engaged, and become more accomplished.
My students sometimes have a hard time becoming engaged in school, but I do my best to make learning fun. My students are capable of learning more and I intend to make sure they have everything they need to be successful this school year!
My Project
My students are use to being in a traditional classroom with desk and hard bottom chairs. They are use to a Teacher standing in front of them lecturing to them on a daily basis. In knowing how this traditional classroom looks and sounds, it is time for a more personalized change.
Personalized learning is the new and improved way that a student learns and be held accountable for their learning.
These materials will help make the classroom setting a more comfortable and more personalized place for learning. Having non-traditional seating will make the students feel more relaxed and at ease while learning. Giving them a choice to flexible seating will have a big impact on their way of thinking and enhance their learning in the classroom.
Having these materials will transform the traditional classroom into a place where a student will feel more accepted, have more choices, be held accountable for their learning, and give them a home away from home.
