My students need math and reading manipulatives to make learning more hands-on and inquiry-based. They need Power Pens and Power Pen Quiz Cards, attribute blocks and write and wipe pockets, clocks and number lines.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
One of my favorite memories from school was being able to use cool "toys" to help me learn. Having different resources available will help the more visual learners who can't connect to the material otherwise.
Most of my students come from poverty and will be the first member of their family to complete school.
My students take their work very seriously, and have rigorous goals for themselves. At our school our goal is to make our students independent and self motivated in order to be college and career ready.
My Project
I will use the materials I am requesting every single day for blended learning in both math and reading. Each day students will complete two to three stations based on what they need to learn. By having these hands-on tools, students will be able to connect to the subject matter on a deeper level rather than reading straight out of a book. My goal by the end of the year is to have many students be independent learners so they can move at their own pace. I feel like having these resources available and accessible will help my students achieve that goal!
I am asking for non-fiction comprehension cards, power pen/ cards and other interactive resources for math, writing and science.
These donations would make a huge difference in my students' learning. In my six years of teaching I have come to find that my students learn and remember a lesson if they get to complete an activity or use manipulative's. If students are able to connect more with the information they will retain more in the long run.
