Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My third graders are inquisitive, bright, and enthusiastic learners. They are interested in learning and staying engaged in lessons, despite the fact that they've been learning remotely since March 2020. Distance learning has been a challenge for many reasons. Many families are experiencing unemployment, evictions, and COVID-19. A lot of my students live in small apartments or homes where they live with several families.
My Project
This project will help me provide my students with masks so they feel safe when they leave their homes. They will use STEM journals to document their science learning via Zoom, and use markers to illustrate and label. My students will use social distance mats to meditate at home and also at school once we return to campus. I will use the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to purchase enrichment resources to make math, art, and science lessons more engaging. Once we are back in school, I will use the thermometer to test my students' temperature.
