This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These are my favorite students to work with. I love working with Seniors. I can be more relaxed with them. I'm excited that they are about to endeavor college career and beyond.

In teaching Personal Finance, I feel so fortunate to expose to them to things that most of us only wished we had encountered at a young age.

They learn things such as mortgages, taxes, budgeting, real estate, and investing. I hope to encourage them to dream big and believe that they can really have a bright future with good sound financial decisions!

My Project

We use calculators on a daily basis. Many of the students in my class have limited resources and having a class set would help ease the tension of not having one and help them gain more confidence not only in their math skills but help them to gain confidence in Financial Literacy.

This class is unique in that we get to talk about money everyday.

Many students are bored with their classes, always asking, "why do we have to learn this?" Or "when are we going to use this?" In my class, however, that question is forever answered - "everyday". I try to build their confidence in not only math but in their future selves to become financially responsible and healthy in their adult lives.
