My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
I teach in a Title 1 school, which means that more than half of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
They want to do well and succeed, but sometimes need a little extra help to get there.
My Project
Today’s students prefer computers and tablets rather than paper and pencil. Students need to know how to write and have good penmanship, but it can get boring doing it ALL day. YOU can fill this gap by purchasing dry erase lapboards for my 2nd grade students!
Dry erase lapboards make students WANT to participate and learn in the classroom.
They get tired of writing with paper and pencil, but if given a dry erase board and Expo marker they NEVER get tired of writing their answers. They will be used for formative assessments to see which students need to be pulled to a small group to reteach a skill in PHONICS and MATH. In 2nd grade, we are building the foundation of their literacy abilities and phonics plays a HUGE role in that. By allowing my students to use dry erase lapboards to write their sight words and letter sounds, they enjoy phonics and put forth their best efforts. They are also easily incorporated into all the other subject areas. These lapboards will increase students’ abilities to write about what they are learning!
The teacher easel will allow me to be a more EFFECTIVE teacher! I can use it for all subject areas and they can be an active participant in the lesson with their dry erase lapboards.
