My Project

It saddens me to say that my students do not have the most minimal of needs met daily. Everyday, children k-8 come stumbling into my classroom asking for items like lotion or deodorant. It happens so often that I haven't been able to keep up with the demand. My heart breaks when I have to tell a student I don't have anything at the moment because I know they will go the rest of the day feeling outcast.

Personal hygiene is a major issue as our school serves some of the the neediest children.

Kids are easily embarrassed when they don't have access to their basic hygiene products, but they spring back so easily when these items are provided. These students feel like outsiders and withdraw from their classmates. Access to deodorant, chapstick, lotion, and toothpaste can go such a long way in the school building.
