My Students

We need a keyboard stand and a bench for our students to perform piano! Our school is a Title One Elementary School. Our students are primarily Black and Hispanic from families with incomes who live below the poverty level. They receive free breakfast and lunch from our school. We also have a growing English Language Learning popular with many children moving from China. Our children have such a wide range of experiences, backgrounds and personalities. It is an honor to be a part of their lives.

My Project

All of our students from Kindergarten all the way up to fifth grade use our school's piano keyboards. We learn to read rhythms, decode a piece of music, and give each other feedback on their performance. For our most recent project, students will be performing on the keyboard for their family and members of the community. Sadly we don't have the correct support for it. We need a good quality keyboard stand to hold our keyboards secure. Students need a sustain pedal to perform with proper technique. And the school needs a piano bench so our little performers can be sitting pretty while they show off their skills!
