This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is centrally located in a small rural community on the south side of the city of Selma, AL. My students are very talented, both academically and in the area of performing arts. Performing arts provide opportunities for my students to engage the mind, body, and emotions.
When my students explore performing arts, they reap the benefits of collaborating with each other, planning, practicing, reflecting, and presenting.
These factors are all beneficial in their education and it warms my heart to see them perform!
My Project
When my students perform with audio involved, the talent is clearly visible, however, only one thing is missing - amplified sound. My school and the students are in need of a Public Address System (PA System) to enhance the sound of the human voice. Performing for an audience teaches students to trust their ideas and builds self-discipline skills. Being able to be heard sufficiently is self assuring with a PA System. The PA System consists of a microphone, amplifiers, and a loud speaker.
The PA System will add a professional and everlasting experience to my students as they perform.
The PA system will also help students build confidence and strengthen presentation skills. I can literally visualize my students coming out of their shells during their performances with a PA System. The PA System will benefit my students for many years in the future.
