My first grade class is filled with diverse students with families from all over the world. I appreciate all that I have learned from them. I especially enjoy sharing in learning with the class as we celebrate all the languages and cultures in our room.
First graders are the best, they have such an excitement for school and learning.
It is amazing to see their smiling faces each day and watch them engage in our lessons and share with each other. My young students grow so much from September to June academically and socially. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to witness the growth of each of my students.
My Project
It is so important that every student has the opportunity to read books that are leveled just right for them. Providing a variety of titles that meet each student's individual reading level needs will promote confidence for independent reading.
Students will have the opportunity to demonstrate respect and ownership for the books they choose by keeping them organized in their own colorful pouches.
Each day students have the opportunity to practice their reading strategies with independent reading time. They are able to choose a handful of books that are on their level and spend focused time exploring their book choices.
Help promote an excitement for reading by offering students books that meet their individual interests and skill levels with a perfectly placed book pouch to keep them in.
