My Students
I am very fortunate to have built a flourishing instrumental music program at my school. We are entering our fifth fabulous year and still have ongoing needs to support our program. As we want to present the best for all, family funds should never be an issue for any child. We are in constant need of replenishment for materials to continue to grow a program of excellence for all of our Seahawks. Funding for materials can be extremely limited but you can change that through your support. Our school population is currently eligible for 80 % free lunch which defines our level of need.
My students are very dedicated, practice vigorously and as a result they accomplish amazing things.
We are in constant need for rosin, woodwind reeds, strings, and other classroom necessities. We are entering another exciting year of the arts and I'd love to ensure my students have everything they need to be truly successful.
My Project
Some of the materials for this project include headphone jack sharing devices. Wright is a one to one iPad project-based learning community. In all of my music classes and my media design class students will learn to edit audio files. Students in instrumental music also practice together in small sectionals and can benefit from hearing MP3 practice tracks to play along with. Often the internal speaker in the iPad isn't loud enough to be heard over musical instruments, having the ability to share one device among several children with headphones on will really ramp up student enjoyment in small group practice. I am also requesting some replacement flute cases. Lastly, we are re-starting this year's Sea Hawk sanctuary that is located off of the arts building. There students make new friends, support each other and watch their garden grow.
