Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a quaint little school in a neighborhood that feels like a small town in a big city.

At our school, classes are small and everyone is treated like family.

The majority of students come from low-income households and have limited resources, yet we have an extremely active PTA. We take great pride in the level of parental involvement at our school. My students are bright and engaged. They have a love of school and have a love of learning.

My Project

I would like to request a Swivl camera and case for my students.

I want students to be able to record themselves reading books and presenting class projects.

This project will increase reading fluency by allowing students a platform to record and share books they enjoy reading. Parents can create video clips to add into our reading fluency center.

I would like to have a way for students to capture and send their science and social studies project presentations to their parents. I hope that parents feel included in our classroom through these video clips that are created by their child. My goal is to use technology to increase parental involvement in our classroom activities.
