Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school with a mosaic of diverse learners in Los Angeles, California. Our school has a little over 500 students. The kids learn more when physically and artistically active, and I do not want them to miss these activities due to the lack of materials. My goal is to create a well-rounded experience for our enthusiastic and tenacious little learners! I want the students to be eager to come to school each and every day, excited to learn!

My Project

I have some squirmy Tigers that need help to stay focused at the reading and writing centers. These balancing balls are perfect to help the students stay focused. To sit on the ball, the student needs to keep their feet planted on the ground to sit. I already have some stools and they work wonders! The balls will give the Tigers another option so they are comfortable and can concentrate better. I love the idea of flexible seating because it gives the students choice and lets them determine which type of chair works best for them to focus and do their best.
