My students need Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief books for their novel study. We only have about 30 books for the entire grade level, so not enough to even share amongst the classes easily. Please!

My Students

My students are from low income homes, many go without food after school and wonder where they will sleep each evening. Several of my students go home with food in their backpacks for the weekend and need their basic needs to be met. Although these students have hardships, their desire to learn and be successful is extraordinary! They come into the building with a drive and passion for being successful.

Each student has the right to be successful, but without materials can they be as successful as their potential?

My Project

My students have begged to complete a novel study to increase higher level thinking and access more challenging texts. In order to do that, we need the materials. Unfortunately, we only have a few copies for the entire grade level (4 classes with 25 - 35 students each, 40 books total to split), so we need more books for my classroom to use. This will help the other groups receive more shared books from the school set.

Please help us access higher level texts so we can increase proficiency!

We need these books in order to access more complex text, review our standards for state testing, and to instill a life-long love of reading! Please help us reach proficiency and literacy love!
