Percussionists Can Practice (if they have the right equipment).
My students need quality percussion equipment to practice on at home so they can be prepared for rehearsals and performances to contribute to our group in a positive way.
The students in my band are proud of their band program's accomplishments, which comes from learning, growing, and working together as a team. They have only been on their musical journey for a little over 6 months now and are eager to advance to the next level.
Through the years our school has been home to award-winning musicians, artists, scholars and athletes.
In addition to a full curriculum of core classes, the school supports special artistic interests through its art and band curriculums. In some cases the two work together for common goals.
Approximately two thirds of our students are part of the free or reduced program at our school, and many of them are borrowing instrumental musical equipment from the school to be part of our program. Even though they have these hardships to deal with, they still come to class excited to learn and contribute to our program. In addition, the community support for our events is astronomical with many people in attendance.
My Project
Many of my students cannot afford the musical equipment they need to be successful. These percussion practice kits make it possible for the students to practice at home or in the practice rooms at school, which will improve their instrumental performance skills. It will also allow them to perform at a higher level for friends, family and community at our public performances.
These percussion kits will give low-income students the ability to study music and will help to cultivate a life-long skill and love for the art.
We just do not have enough instruments to go around, but, with the financial assistance we receive through the generous donation that are given by people like you we can get the equipment we need and help someone less fortunate. Who knows, maybe we are helping a "Mozart" of tomorrow realize their dreams now so we can enjoy the art they share in the future.
