My Students
My students are hardworking, fun and on their way to being great musicians. They are bright people and extremely dedicated to their musical experience.
My school is not located in an affluent community.
We provide almost everything the students need in order for them to participate in our instrumental music programs. We serve a largely Hispanic population where about 15% of the students are English language learners. Music has always brought people together and it continues to bring together the students of this school.
My Project
Percussionists and drumline members have long been the backbone of whatever musical ensemble they take part in. Our percussionists need more marching sticks. Our current sticks and mallets have been in use for a while and are in need of replacing. We also need more drum pads so that current and future drumline members and percussionists have something to take home and practice with that is comparable to real drums.
Practice makes perfect and the students deserve the equipment that lets them practice outside of the classroom environment.
We are also in need of an x-stand to place our bell set on so that the bells can be used in rehearsal. Any donation is greatly appreciated by both the students and myself!
