Help me give my students new percussion instruments such as cymbals, bells, and drum mallets, which will be used in rehearsals as well as performances such as School Concerts and Marching Band Parades.
My instrumental music students are in Grades 6-8 and rehearse in a Concert Band setting. They are ethnically diverse and come from several towns on the South Shore of Staten Island. My students enjoy playing Jazz, Classical, Rock, and Popular Music in Concert Band. We perform in many events during the year, including a Winter Concert, Spring Concert, fundraisers, and outdoor Alumni Events at our school on Staten Island NY. My students constantly use instruments to rehearse and perform and these instruments need to be in the best condition possible to perform at their best. Good quality instruments help when students try to play in tune. They also assist when students try to produce a beautiful tone on their instrument.
My Project
These percussion instruments will replace the outdated equipment we have. The cymbals, bells, drum mallets and other instruments will assist students in sounding their very best in every aspect of their performance. Students will use the instrument to perform Rock, Jazz, Pop, and Classical Music. Students will use these new percussion instruments in performances as well as rehearsals.
When I get new materials, I teach students skills such as responsibility and dedication to ensure that the equipment stays safe and in like-new condition.
These instrument will help hundreds and thousands of students in the future. Some of them may even go on to a career in Music!
