My Students

Billy Joel says, "I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music". Help my students embrace new music.

My students are excellent musicians who strive for perfection.

In my classroom, we are always seeking out new musical adventures. We have over 150 singers in this program. The group consists of students in the 9th-12th grades from all cultural and economic backgrounds.

My Project

Adding the Djun Djun and Djembe to our classroom, will help me bring authentic African music to my students. This will help them learn what music is like in other countries and cultures. Hopefully, they will be inspired to seek out more multi-cultural music.

Please help me open the minds of my students to other cultures by using the music that is found in their countries.

This will foster love and acceptance of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
