My students are enthusiastic, beginner band members, with a hearty appetite for learning new music and concepts. They handle our old inventory of instruments with lots of care, even those we don't have great storage for. They share their music, joy, and excitement with the rest of our elementary school caroling in the hallways, playing "Happy Birthday" for staff members and serenading their peers on the morning announcements.
My classroom is a place that encourages students to create, express, and unlock new skills through the beauty of music.
My students are eager to share music with their school community and can often be found helping and motivating one another.
My Project
These cases will be put to immediate use keeping our equipment safe. With limited storage areas in our building, our drums and cymbals are often left out in publicly used space or in closets with non-music equipment, putting them at a risk for damage. Cases will help us protect them and preserve what we have, for as long as possible, so many students can enjoy and use them for years to come.
Cases will help protect our percussion instruments on their box truck ride to our performances throughout the year.
Many of the repairs needed, in recent years, have been accidental injuries that occurred during transportation. Cases will help alleviate repairs costs and keep our instruments safe! We are also in need of a bass drum mallet for percussionists to learn to play our bass drum properly.
