Montessori classrooms are very different from traditional classrooms. My students learn quickly to be independent learners. We work in different areas throughout the classroom. We do not have assigned seats because movement is healthy and important for children. Some students choose to work at tables and others like to work on the floor. My class is a combined 1st, 2nd, 3rd grade classroom. I have a culturally diverse group of students who enjoy reading and learning. Thank you for helping us enrich our environment.

My Project
Teaching children neat print writing helps them learn write cursive better. Many students develop bad letter formation and pencil grip before they get to first grade, those are very hard to fix. With recent research showing the importance of longhand note taking and it's contribution for students learning. I want to make sure my students have the opportunity to have proper letter formation and neat handwriting.
Good Penmanship will help my students be good note takers through out their educational journey.

Handwriting Without Tears was created by an occupational therapist, who used developmental approach to develop the program, and the techniques that she has put together, are very well known to help make handwriting become an automatic and a natural skill. Once students know how to write they would want to write.
