Pencils, Please

My students need pencils. A full 75% of my students are economically disadvantaged, and, at this point in the year, we just need pencils. Simple but necessary.

My Students

My students attend a Title I elementary school. They are hardworking and very enthusiastic. They are from diverse backgrounds and add to the culture of our school. They face many challenges daily.

My students have turned windows into doors. They break through barriers not many other students face. They made 20% gains on our state end-of-course exam. If they have the tools to be successful, they can be. They want a level playing field in the classroom.

My Project

We are at the halfway point in the year and gearing up for testing season. My students are running low on pencils.

A pencil sounds simple but can change a life.

Please help my students continue their journey to becoming successful and engaged citizens. Writing is the most impactful way to change the world. Think of the Magna Carta, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. All of these are just words on paper.

Please help my students write their own history. We are so grateful for DonorsChoose.org and all of the help they have given us. Please consider my students and their needs. We really need pencils.
