My students need basic school supplies to carry them throughout their entire school year, especially for most of my low income students.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 6th grade students are all hard workers and dedicated to their learning. In our classroom, we collaborate in groups, develop essential questions and dive into themes such as social justice and equality. Passion drives their learning and they are becoming independent learners working for change.
Curious, creative and passionate are a few words to describe my students.
From the moments they enter my classroom, they are on a mission to use their voices and be heard. From Socratic Seminars centered around worldly hot topics, to Writer's Workshop and analyzing poetry, my students are learning about their potential one day at a time.
My Project
These supplies will carry my 100+ 6th graders through their first year of middle school. Basic supplies run extremely low in my classroom because many of my students either can not afford a pencil, or they do not have the means to get to the store. Depending solely on my teacher income, it can be very difficult to make these students feel included without having these basic supplies available. We need these supplies to function on a daily basis, and without them, success can be difficult to achieve. My hopes are to provide my students with as many tools they need for their first year in middle school. Any help is appreciated.
