This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in a low income school district, and each year more and more cuts are made to our school, greatly affecting the resources we have. We lack the money needed to buy the "extra" things to make our school day run smoother. Because our school has been drastically affected by the budget cuts, my students are missing the basic necessities that are used daily in the classroom. Often times, it is up to the teachers to purchase the materials and supplies we need.
I teach an inquisitive bunch of fourth graders who love learning!
Each day my students come to school eager and ready to learn. They don’t let the financial hardships interfere with their desire to learn and be the best they can be.
My Project
I am asking for markers and pencils to help us finish out the school year. I love watching the creativity of my students come to life during assignments. My 4th graders love using markers during class, but unfortunately we do not have them in our supply closet. I am asking for Sharpie and scented markers. The students will be able to use them for their daily projects in reading, taking notes during math, and their drawings in science. I am also asking for pencils. The pencils will be used in all subjects areas. By providing us with these tools, we can take the worry out of the day, and we all will be prepared and ready to learn.
Please consider funding my project!
This request for pencils and markers will help create a learning environment that gives my students a fair chance. I promise we will use this donation daily in the classroom. Thank you for your time and commitment to my students and their education.
