My students are wonderful! Most of my first graders are new to our country. Many are refugees, homeless, or live with many different people in their homes. My students are eager to learn, love school, and care for each other. We are a community of learners, a family. Together we are learning how to be students, good citizens, and friends.
If you were to visit our classroom, you would not know the struggles or obstacles that my young learners face every day.
I love my students. They know they can count on me and one another. We all work together to become the best that we can be.
My Project
My first grade students need pencils and erasers! My classroom practices lots of writing and math and it is critical that we buy the “beginner pencils” - the traditional #2 yellow pencils but slightly thicker. First graders use beginner pencils so they can have a better grip.
Each and every one of my students seeks to perfect their writing - often erasing the wrong word and re-writing it with the correct one – therefore, lots of pencils and erasers are needed.
They also come in handy during testing season also! An electric pencil sharpener is a plus to maintain our tools staying sharp as well! The amount of pencils and erasers requested is for the entire school year! Your donation will help us achieve our goal together!
