Every morning, my students come into my classroom with a smile and are ready to learn. I am lucky to teach a classroom full of students who come from a variety of backgrounds. I am a 4th-grade teacher at a Title I school in Norfolk, VA. Throughout the year, my students and I become a family.
Reading time has become one of the best parts of our day, as we stretch our imaginations when we lose ourselves in a book!
My students are book-loving, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners. Their ability levels are varied as our learning community includes students who receive special education, ESL/ELL services, and gifted services.
They love to recommend books to each other, suggest read alouds, and mentor read to younger students. Regardless of what they endure in their lives outside the walls of our classroom, my students know that when they walk through the door of our classroom, they are loved and can trust that their needs always come first.
I strive to create a welcoming and engaging classroom, where my students are inspired to continue their paths to limitless amounts of learning and success.
My Project
Its that time of year again when my students and I find ourselves asking where all our supplies have disappeared to. We can't seem to figure it out... Then we look round our classroom and see all the amazing work we've completed and we realize all the exciting and wonderful learning that has taken place within "our home away from home". But that still leaves us with needing more supplies.
Help replenish our basic classroom supplies so we can continue learning to our full potential!
Pencils, crayons, glue sticks, markers, and headphones (for ESL testing) are all basic supplies that we need in our classroom. We have run low or even out of most of our materials that we use on daily basis.
