My students need pencils in order to do their work. We need hand sanitizer in order to keep our class healthy. We need the Print, Cut and Fold book will fun for my students.
What makes my students special? I have thought about this question for awhile and I keep coming to the same conclusion: they are special because they want to learn. They are special because they come to school every day and challenge me to give them the best education they deserve. My students are special because they need me as much as I need them.
Most of my students come from a low-income area and often cannot get the basic supplies they need.
We send out supply lists every year and I have noticed that students are bringing fewer and fewer of the required supplies.
This means I have to buy more supplies every year. I don't get reimbursed for any supplies or extra items, yet I buy them every year without complaint because I believe in my students and I think they are beautiful inside and out. They need to know that people care about them and their education.
My Project
My students need hand stanitizer to keep my class healthy. We live in an economically depressed area and my student's can't afford to see a doctor all the time so I try to do my part in keeping them healthly. I decided to get the golf pencils because I never get my pencils back. I will just give my students a golf pencil to start class with. I will give out the mechanical pencils as rewards.
I can't wait to get these supplies so I can hand them out to all my new students.
I may be teaching both 6th and 7th grade next year and I believe this is going to challenging and exciting all at the same time.
