My students love dancing, acting, drawing, sharing and are courageous in sharing how they feel and standing up for what they believe in. They have lots of energy and are ready to use it in a meaningful way that will help both their peers and community.
I teach at an inner city middle school where sixty percent of students receive free or reduced-price lunch and thirty-six percent are English Language Learners.
My students enjoy coming to school for both social and academic reasons. We have an amazing staff who support each and every student socially, emotionally and academically. To able to do this, many of us spend our own money to support our students.
My Project
We are in the middle of October and some students are still missing a binder! We are an AVID school and students are required to have a binder. Students use binders to organize all their supplies and assignments for all 7 classes during the school day. Help me give them the gift of being organized and prepared every day for class.
I teach physical science using interactive science notebooks, so we use quite a bit of paper.
Our school has iPads but as you know, sometimes it’s just easier on paper. I’m hoping for the basics: glue sticks, paper and pencils to help me get through the school year!
